Sydnei Patton is a graduating senior majoring in Psychology and Spanish. Hailing from Kansas City, KS, she arrived at Fisk University in the fall of 2016 to pursue higher education. Currently, she humbly serves as the President of the Student Government Association which allows her to act as the liaison between the student body and the administration of the University. Along with this critical role on campus, she also serves as a student representative on the Fisk University Board of Trustees.

Sydnei is very active on Fisk University’s campus. She has played volleyball and women’s basketball throughout her entire collegiate career. When she is not on the court she is serving as Miss Black and Gold for the Alpha Chi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Ms. Patton is also a member of the W.E.B. DuBois Honors program and an Elite Student Ambassador. Sydnei is a proud member of the Pi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Throughout her matriculation at Fisk, Sydnei has served as a resident assistant, Vice President of the Rotary Club, and a campus leader for the Mount Zion College Ministry.

After graduating from Fisk University Sydnei plans to further her education. She will earn her master’s and a doctorate degree in higher education and become an administrator at a four-year institution. Eventually, she will serve as the President of an HBCU.  Sydnei is humbled and honored to be an active student leader at Fisk University and she is excited to give back to the University as an alumna.
